What’s a Wedding Film?

Wedding Films go beyond your typical wedding video by taking artistry, sound, and music to a new level.

Films are edited to be around 10-15 minutes in length to show all the great moments of the day, but are still a nice length that you can enjoy over and over again and show friends and family without anyone getting too bored.

Naturally, all that you've come to expect from us -- the great experience, unobtrusive coverage, and incredible visuals -- are there, just with moving pictures and sound!

How We Do it

We start with a great range of equipment, such as the incredible Canon Cinema EOS C300 camera, the Canon 5D Mark III DSLR to get you a full film-like effect to avoid the typical "video look".

We take great care to capture great audio, too, especially of the ceremony and speeches, so you get crisp, clear audio, and not typical distant-sounding video.

Finally, we bring all the visuals and sound and music together into an exciting final edit with lots of fun and energy.

Introductory Savings Offer

Over the 2013 and 2014 seasons, we'll be offering some incredible introductory discounts to build our film portfolio, so contact us to discuss your wedding plans!

Enjoy!

Alicia and David: Wedding Film Trailer

Monday, 3 September 2012

This was one wedding I was eagerly awaiting – the chance to make a wedding film for Alicia and Dave. I loved it! I’d been wanting to find ways to extend the candid coverage that has always been part of my photography into moving pictures and sound. I feel there are just some moments, especially the speeches and ceremony, that are worth remembering in their entirety as well as with static photos. We’ve already been doing some documentary video work and even behind-the-scenes on our various wedding shoots already, so it was a lot of fun to do a full wedding.

Alicia and David held their nuptuals at the Whonnock Lake Centre in Maple Ridge, a great little hall by the lake and park. I’d never shot out there before and was very impressed with the facility: bright, airy, and a great setting. And a bonus: air conditioning on one of the hottest days I can remember. No wonder it gets solidly booked much of the year. Everything was incredibly fun right from the very start of the day. The speeches were incredibly touching (you’ll see a little in the trailer from Alicia’s dad). It was simply a really nice wedding.

Starting this year and next, Studio Impossible is going to incorporate wedding films and photo/film fusions into what we do. Wedding films will include the trailer, a zippy 15-20 minute film, all set to fully licensed, legal music, and the raw footage. The feel is going to be just like our wedding coverage: candid moments, dramatic visuals, just with moving pictures and sound.

Enjoy the trailer!
