Liliya and Horace’s wedding was so much fun to photograph. It began with the tea ceremony in traditional Chinese clothing, moved on to the wedding ceremony in the cute little chapel in Burnaby Village Museum, and closed out the night at the Dockside restaurant at Granville Island. Naturally, the vintage 1912 carousel at the village was part of the photography, as was the old electric tram car.
The fun times, laughter, tears of joy, poignant speeches, hilarious costumes, beautiful bride, and dancing definitely exemplified a great wedding celebration. Liliya’s parents made the journey from the Ukraine to attend her wedding, but to also meet their other daughter’s toddler son for the first time, so what an incredible visit it would have been for them.
This being a Ukrainian-Chinese wedding gave a me a chance to try out the Russian I learned years ago in university, and my Cantonese as well – it is quite the challenge trying to think in three languages at once!
Congratulations to Liliya and Horace!
